When someone triggers a childhood wound, I can feel really small and helpless again. But I try to remember I’m actually an adult, and that my words can be weapons too. So sometimes I go give myself space and let my hurt inner child rant on paper using my non-dominant hand. Holding space for my feelings like that helps me be more responsible with my own actions. Even in moments where other people have forgotten how.
